The River Edge Elementary School District is a community public school district that serves students in Kindergarten through sixth grade from River Edge, in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States.
As of the 2009-10 school year, the district's two schools had an enrollment of 1,305 students and 85 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 15.35.[1]
The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[3]
River Edge shares secondary schooling with Oradell. Together, they make up the River Dell Regional School District. Students in grades 7 and 8 attend River Dell Regional Middle School in River Edge. Students in grades 9 - 12 attend River Dell Regional High School in Oradell.[4]

The strength of the River Edge School District is the standardized test scores compared against the District Factor Group (DFG) standardized test scores.[7][8]
Curriculum review is an ongoing process in River Edge. Current educational research, the New Jersey Core Content Standards, as well as national subject standards are used in the curriculum development. This process ensures that each curricular area is comprehensive and reflects current educational thought.
